CityMatCH proves guidance and support to the Best Babies Zone on local and national policy issues that affect the work within the zones. They focus their goals in equity, science and leadership and on two core assumptions around collaboration and evaluation.  CityMatCH believes the success and greatest impact of CityMatCH’s work relies upon collaboration with our members and partners. Validating the impact of CityMatCH’s projects requires a thorough and scientific evaluation of their outcomes.  In addition, the local efforts of our members, which we guide and support, also deserve monitoring and measurement.  CityMatCH is increasing its evaluation and dissemination efforts across all programs and initiatives.

CityMatCH is a freestanding national membership organization of city and county health departments' maternal and child health (MCH) programs and leaders representing urban communities in the United States. The mission of CityMatCH is to improve the health and well-being of urban women, children and families by strengthening the public health organizations and leaders in their communities.
